GLAMOURGIRL DESIGNING THIS CHANDELIER, HELENA WAS INSPIRED BY THE 1920’S AND -30’S. THE RESULT WAS AN ART DECO-INSPIRED CHANDELIER WITH PEARLS AND CRYSTALS. “I WAS AIMING FOR CLASSY FEMININITY, LUXURY AND GLAMOUR AND TO CREATE A CHANDELIER THAT ADORNS ITS SPOT ABOVE A DINING TABLE. THE SHAPE OF AN ELLIPSE GIVES IT A MODERN CONTRAST TO TRADITIONAL CRYSTAL CHANDELIERS. BESIDES, I LIKE THE COMBINATION OF PEARL NECKLACES AND CRYSTALS. THE DESIGN FEELS NEW AND CONTEMPORARY”, HELENA ALLARD SAYS.

OCTOBER IN THE FALL OF 2010, JOHAN CARPENER AND KREBS STARTED COLLABORATING. USING A TIN SHADE AS A REFERENCE POINT, THEY EXPERIMENTED WITH SHAPE AND MATERIALS UNTIL THE LAST PIECES OF THE PUZZLE FELL INTO PLACE AND OCTOBER WAS BORN. “THE INSPIRATION CAME FROM DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS; ONE OF THEM WAS THE BEAUTIFUL SPARKLE FROM THE STREET LIGHTS DURING A RAINY, DARK EVENING. OCTOBER SPREADS A SPARKLING, SOFT LIGHT ACROSS THE ROOM AND WHEN YOU MOVE TOWARDS THE LAMP, IT IS AS IF THE LIGHT FLOW IS BROUGHT TO LIFE AND SLOWLY RAINS DOWN FROM THE SHADE”, JOHAN CARPENER SAYS.
